Horn fair at Charlton house was definitely one to remember! The event was a vibrant celebration of the boroughs community spirit, local history and creativity - in celebration of Charlton House marking an amazing 100 years of public ownership.
As photographers, it’s difficult not to be inspired by the array of colour, music, laughter and culture that filled the grounds during this historical event. From traditional performances to modern-day community fun, Horn Fair continues to be a much loved and enjoyable event for all ages.

A Festival of Heritage and Performance
The day’s entertainment was a full lineup of History talks, Punch and Judy, Charlie Chaplin a choir and many more. The Charlie Chaplin Show was a brilliant nod to classic film comedy and really got the crowd going! It was definitely one of our highlights! and the ever-popular Punch & Judy, which drew smiles from children and adults alike.
What makes photographing Horn Fair truly special is its deep connection to local history. The fair dates back centuries, evolving from folklore and community gatherings into the vibrant cultural celebration we see today.
It was also a day of reflection and pride as everyone celebrated a century since Charlton House became a space for the public to enjoy. Capturing families, performers, and history enthusiasts coming together on its grounds was a reminder of how important community heritage is to preserve and celebrate.
Through our Lens
We loved being part of Horn Fair this year and being able to tell a story through family photography. We were able to preserve a piece for History that is important to our local community and we’re proud to have played a part in celebrating it. If you’re looking for some events, that the whole family will enjoy I highly recommend visiting Charlton house. They host spectacular events such as Heritage talks, creative workshops and seasonal fairs. You can find out about any of their upcoming events by visiting their website. For us the event was a lovely reminder of why we love working with families throughout the year - whether it's newborn photography, kids portraits or capturing community events that bring families together.
